Genetic Counselor-Cancer Center
The Cancer Genetics service comprises two full-time genetic counselors and 2 part-time genetic counselors. The genetic counselors see patients from their own clinic schedules and in the multidisciplinary cancer clinics. Responsibilities include providing risk assessment, counseling, testing and support for patients and families with increased cancer risk; and serving as an informational resource for staff on hereditary cancer syndromes. The genetic counselors also participate in various cancer center committees, attend and present at weekly tumor conferences, and are involved in research, teaching, and community outreach.
