The Myriad Women's Health Regional Medical Specialist (MWH RMS) is a strategic and critical position within the company, responsible for providing clinical education and support on prenatal genetics and hereditary cancer risk assessment and management, to healthcare providers and key opinion leaders. The MWH RMS supports three products: Myriad myRisk® hereditary cancer panel (including riskScore®), Myriad Prequel™ NIPS screen and Myriad Foresight® carrier screening panel.
You will join an amazing team of genetic counselors as a field-based member of the Myriad Women's Heath Medical Affairs Department, working out of a personal home office. This position will require regular travel, up to 30% of time (1-2 days/week, on average) within the assigned RMS geography. Though most travel is the assigned geography, there will be additional travel required for educational or corporate meetings, as needed.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Women's Health RMS are customer-centric and aligned closely to Myriad Women Health's business strategies and initiatives:
- Serve as the clinical expert to healthcare providers, by providing effective remote and on-site clinical education and support toMyriad Women's Health customers. The education and support provided by an MWH RMS includes: presenting information on medical society guidelines and genetic testing/screening technology, providing guidance on results interpretation based on medical guidelines and supporting the integration of genetic testing into clinical practice.
- Develop and sustain relationships with healthcare providers and key opinion leaders who influence the incorporation of genetic screening/testing into clinical practice.
- Serve as a leader amongst the RMS team in one or more clinical content or support areas and/or lead a cross-departmental project central to supporting Myriad's mission in an efficient manner.
A successful RMS will need to: - Provide steady leadership, remain flexible/nimble in a rapidly changing environment, identify areas of need and propose solutions, communicate and collaborate successfully with a diverse group of stakeholders (both internal and external) and work with an efficiency mindset
- Educate to empower healthcare providers on the adoption of hereditary cancer risk assessment and prenatal genetic screening, consistent with current standard of care and guidelines
- Deliver relevant scientific education and support to internal and external partners
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers in a variety of roles within key accounts and key opinion leaders, aligned with corporate and MWH objectives
- Effectively strategize and prioritize, managing time and needs in a specific geography, based on current corporate and Medical Affairs objectives
- Serve as an active member of the RMS national team, sharing best practices to elevate other members of the Myriad Medical Affairs community and Commercial team
Qualifications: - Board Certified Genetic Counselor with experience in cancer and/or prenatal genetics and ability to obtain GC licensure in some states. Board Eligible Genetic Counselors, with Active Candidate Status, including new grads, are encouraged to apply
- Well-developed prioritization, organizational, communication, presentation, and project management skills, functioning with an "efficiency mindset"
- Ability to interact effectively and independently in a team environment, regardless of personnel function or reporting responsibilities
