Work as part of a supportive and collaborative team of specialists serving a diverse patient population that exhibits a wide range of anomalies and genetic conditions. This full-time position is available at our modern full-service office conveniently located in the Maryland suburbs.
Our Genetic Counselors help patients and families understand hereditary syndromes and their options for genetic screening and diagnostic testing, including the benefits and limitations for patients and family members. This means explaining basic genetic concepts and modes of inheritance, discussing screening and medical management, identifying patient goals and concerns, and coordinating patient care related to genetic testing.
We are looking for Genetic Counselors who want to establish strong patient relationships throughout the process – from performing genetic risk assessments based on family health history to sharing genetic testing results and helping with psychosocial support and counseling.
To qualify, you should have:
Master’s Degree in human genetics and counseling or related field
Board eligible for certification as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Medical Genetics
One-three years of experience as a Genetic Counselor
