The University of Chicago Genetic Services Laboratories is a CLIA- and CAP-certified laboratory, which offers cutting-edge DNA diagnostic services nationally and internationally.
The University of Chicago Genetic Services Laboratories has a full time position available for a genetic counselor. This is a laboratory-based genetic counseling position that supports the operations of the University of Chicago Genetic Services Laboratories. Responsibilities will include reviewing test requests and communicating with clients, writing and reporting of genetic test results, participating in activities related to test updates and new test development and implementation, marketing of genetic testing services, participating in various research activities, liaising with clinicians and researchers on specific projects and participating in the training of clinical laboratory fellows. The position involves interaction with several members of the group including another genetic counselor, laboratory directors, laboratory supervisor, technical personnel, fellows and bioinformaticians. This position can be performed remotely. Degree from an accredited genetic counseling program and board certification is required. Knowledge of genetic testing technology and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Previous experience working as a laboratory genetic counselor is required. |
