SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Under direction of the Chief Strategy Officer, supports annual and multi-year business planning for Detroit Medical Center / Detroit Market, working closely with market leadership and hospital strategy leaders. These efforts include integrating market health care utilization data and competitive dynamic insights into forecasting, business opportunity identification, assessment, and monitoring execution of prioritized initiatives. Independently leads market assessment and pro-forma development for major capital projects. Develops and maintains market analytics and business intelligence solution(s) deployed across the market, inclusive of managing external vendor relationships. Partners with market operators and develops communications for senior executives and Board discussions.
Analytical ability to serve in an advisory/consultative role in determining and/or developing strategies, policies, processes, protocols and methods, frequently in the absence of guidelines or technical assistance, and to evaluate and implement complex systems/techniques and/or processes that foster innovative approaches to improve current functions.

Understands market dynamics across the continuum of care, and is able to identify trends and clearly distill and provide data-driven insights to form recommendations for colleagues who may not have a technical background.

Bachelorï¿½s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or related discipline. MBA or Masters in Health Care Administration (preferred).
Five years of related work experience in financial services, management consulting or business planning in health care.
Advanced Excel and Querying skills; substantial experience with data analysis and modeling. Experience with building, developing and validating Tableau (data visualization software) reports preferred.
