The Division of Genetics and Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking two full-time genetic counseling faculty. These candidates would join an interprofessional team with 6 Genetic Counselors, 4 Clinical and/or Biochemical Geneticists, 1 Neurogeneticist, 5 Nurse Practitioners, and 3 Metabolic Dieticians.
We offer a wide variety of clinical services including general genetics, biochemical genetics, and neurogenetics clinics serving both pediatric and adult patients. We also have a large genetic counseling clinic in which genetic counselors provide care for patients independently. Clinics are located at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in the heart of Music City, and at 6 satellite locations in middle Tennessee.
These positions will combine clinical care and specialty project(s) available to our team members.
Opportunities include involvement in:
Clinical care including genetic counseling clinics, specialty clinics, and interprofessional clinics with other genetics providers serving both pediatric and adult patients.
The newly established genomic sequencing laboratory.
Test utilization management.
Institutional consultative service projects including variant interpretation services and support to VUMC providers for test ordering and patient care.
Multiple NIH funded research opportunities including the Undiagnosed Diseases Network Program.
Education roles through Vanderbilt Genetic Counselor Program (VCGP) and with medical students, residents, fellows, medical professionals, and lay audiences.
