The individual in this position has overall responsibility for hospital utilization performance improvement and operational management of the Sterile Processing Department in order to promote effective utilization of hospital resources, ensure processes support appropriate patient care services rendered, support efficient patient throughput, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to Sterile Processing Services.
Ensures that all Sterile Processing areas within Perioperative Services produce the necessary services.
Responsible for the quality of services through the development and documentation of a quality monitoring system and program evaluation reflected through key indicators.
Makes sure services are coordinated with other the organization department services and corporate plans.
Accountable for strategic planning, program development, labor management and overall operational administration of the Sterile Processing Program at the organization.
Has the ability to hire, fire and discipline staff.
Preferred: Bachelorï¿½s Degree.
Required: 5 years sterile processing or operating room leadership experience. 5 years sterile processing experience. Preferred: 5 years sterile processing director experience.
Required: BLS required. Preferred: IAHCSMM or CBSPD Certified.
