ChristianaCare is currently seeking a Director of Benefits and Wellness. The Director of Benefits and Wellness is responsible for leading the long-term strategy, design, implementation and administration of all benefit programs, such as health, dental, vision, life, disability, flexible benefits, retirement and work life plans. This position is responsible for driving ChrisitanaCare's competitive position in the labor market by developing and implementing market competitive benefit and wellbeing strategies.
Lead benefits and wellness team to set benefit strategy aligned to the values and strategy of ChristianaCare.
Manage large vendor relationships (with consultants, administrators, record keepers, insurance carriers, trustees, etc.) for the delivery of benefits administration, including oversight for budgets, billing and service procurement
Oversee the financial performance of the health and welfare benefit programs, interacting with external actuaries as well as internal finance and accounting partners
Oversee vendor/program performance and make recommendations for improvements
Monitor industry trends to ensure benefit programs remain competitive and make recommendations for program enhancements or changes
Oversee development and implementation of procedures to ensure that programs are administered efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations
Work collaboratively with and act as a thought leader for other internal partners (finance, legal, etc.) to ensure benefit programs are cost effective, legally compliant and competitive
Manage and support the execution of new and ongoing projects and deliverables while being an active hands-on participant in the process
Ensure compliance with benefit regulations and compliance including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and tax filing requirements, etc.
Lead team efforts in developing solutions to difficult or complex situations to ensure goals and objectives are met, including delivering results on time and within budget
Present strategy and costing information to senior leadership
Develop and implement communication strategies that improve the understanding and value of ChristianaCare's benefit programs.
Bachelor's degree required.
Masters' degree preferred.
Ten to fifteen years of progressive benefit administration experience required
