Associate Professor/Professor, CFA MD Anderson Cancer Center, Division of Diagnostic Imaging seeks a Deputy Division Head for Operations at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment. This position will be an individual with a strong interest in strategy and operations and a demonstrated background in leadership. The division comprises the Departments of Abdominal Imaging, Breast Imaging, Cancer Systems Imaging, Imaging Physics, Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology Head and Neck Imaging, Nuclear Medicine and Thoracic Radiology. The Division of Diagnostic Imaging is an administrative unit formed to provide broad direction and coordination for all diagnostic imaging departments and centers at the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. The Division incorporates the Institution’s resources available for developing and maintaining professional excellence in a comprehensive program of diagnostic imaging and supporting specialties. The Deputy Division Head for Operations (DDH-O) will report directly to the Division Head of Diagnostic Imaging, serving as the officer responsible for developing, coordinating and overseeing the successful execution of the division’s stated strategic direction. The DDH-O will also work with the Division Head and other divisional leaders to establish policies which promote the division’s culture and vision. The DDH-O will serve as a “second in command” of the division and will represent the division and its interests both internally and externally as delegated. Authority is specifically delegated by the Division Head, to coordinate operations within the Division of Diagnostic Imaging and to interface with other divisions, Centers, the Houston area locations, and Network partners to optimize such activities. This position requires a highly skilled individual with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills to communicate effectively and lead teams toward the execution of cross-functional strategic goals. Qualified candidate must have a Medical Degree or PhD, board eligible or hold board certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent in Diagnostic Imaging and hold licensure by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Candidates must have demonstrated experience managing an academic department or organization of similar size and complexity to success. Preferred candidates must have significant clinical experience, excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills and proven ability to work with diverse constituencies in order to achieve an overarching goal or goals.
