Hennepin Healthcare OB Testing Unit & Maternal Fetal Medicine Center
Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a genetic counselor who wants to be an integral part of a quality high-risk Maternal-Fetal Medicine practice. The genetic counselor accepting this position will join a team of two maternal fetal medicine physicians, one of whom is also board certified in clinic genetics, as well as another genetic counselor, highly skilled ultrasonographers dedicated to our unit and nursing staff. We also work with Obstetrics & Gynecology Residents and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellows and participate in training Genetic Counseling interns.
Our team provides patients and families with counseling and information across a wide range of both low and high-risk indications. We have a multidisciplinary prenatal anomalies team that includes Neonatology, General Pediatrics, several Pediatric Subspecialists and social work to coordinate care as and testing for pregnancies identified with congenital anomalies or genetic conditions.

As a part of our team this individual will
Provide prenatal and preconception genetic counseling for both low and high-risk patients.
Arrange appropriate genetic testing and communicating results to patients
Provide appropriate psychosocial support to families
Provide written communication to referring providers detailing genetic counseling sessions and related genetic testing results
Function as an integrated part of multi-disciplinary team
Train and supervise graduate-level genetic counseling students, medical residents and other medical professionals with regarding to genetic counseling, testing and clinical expertise
Be board certified by either ABGC or ABMG and hold/obtain Minnesota Genetic Counseling licensure
This position is open to both experienced counselors as well as new graduates.

Masters degree in Genetics from a genetic counseling program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Must be board certified as a Genetic Counselor by either the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics.
