Summary of Position:
ANFS seeks candidates for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank to begin in August of 2020. Successful candidates should possess expertise in human nutrition and demonstrate a trajectory toward outstanding scholarship and research. We seek candidates with teaching and research interests related to the impacts of food production, safety, access, consumption, and/or policy as it pertains to human health outcomes.

The Department and Program:
The Agriculture, Nutrition, and Food Systems (ANFS) Department (http://colsa.unh.edu/anfs) currently serves undergraduate majors through its Animal Science, Nutrition, Equine Studies, and Sustainable Agriculture & Food Systems programs, as well as graduate students and dietetic interns through a variety of departmental and college-wide programs. The Nutrition Program offers three undergraduate options within the major and serves almost 250 students; graduate offerings include thesis-based masters and doctoral programs, a combined masters with dietetic internship, an accelerated 3+2 BS/MS program, as well as a graduate certificate in dietetics.
Current ANFS faculty research areas include nutritional epidemiology, human nutrition & disease prevention, animal and plant production, plant breeding and applied genomics, plant pathology, and dairy cattle nutrition. We are a vibrant, new, interdisciplinary department, well-positioned to engage in cross-disciplinary research and teaching at the interface of our food system and human health.
Acceptable Minimum Qualifications:
A Doctoral degree in nutritional sciences or related discipline, and demonstrated potential for extramural funding.
A demonstrated interest in integrating across multiple dimensions of the food system.
A record of scholarly research that aligns with the position description and complements existing expertise within the department and college.
Demonstrated potential in teaching and mentoring of our graduate and undergraduate students .
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An understanding and appreciation of the integrated teaching, research, and service component of UNH’s land-grant mission and the trans-disciplinary alignment of agriculture, nutrition, and food systems science in higher education.

Teaching and/or advising experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
