Carroll College, an independent, Catholic, diocesan, liberal arts college located in Helena, MT is seeking an energetic, innovative, and collegial faculty member (non-tenure-track, Assistant or Associate Professor) to lead the development of a Master’s degree program in Genetic Counseling. Working with the Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and the Office of Academic Affairs, we seek an experienced educator and a visionary program director for this 12-month position who will be responsible for: 1) designing and implementing, administering, and continually reviewing all aspects of the Genetic Counseling program including seeking accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC), programmatic review and assessment, and ensuring the program remains in compliance with ACGC accreditation; 2) teaching courses in the program as assigned; 3) hiring, mentoring, and evaluating instructional and clinical faculty and staff in the program; 4) scheduling and staffing courses; 5) recruiting and mentoring students; and 6) developing partnerships with local and regional genetic counselors and medical geneticists
Successful applicants will
1) have a Master’s or Doctorate degree in Genetic Counseling and will be certified in genetic counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG);
2) have at least 5 years’ experience as a genetic counselor;
3) be knowledgeable and experienced in genetic counseling, teaching, clinical supervision, and other related subjects; and
4) have a record of demonstrated successful leadership, program development, organizational planning as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills.
