Community Medical Centers is currently seeking two Genetic Counselors to serve our growing genetics department. We have one opportunity to serve patients at the Community Cancer Institute (CCI) campus in Clovis, California. CCI is the region’s first comprehensive cancer center working closely with UCSF medical staff, providing outpatient cancer treatments, the latest in cancer research and pioneering clinical trials. We also are seeking a Genetic Counselor to join our team at Community Regional Medical Center, our flagship hospital and home to the only comprehensive burn and level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

From providing genetic counseling and case management to ensuring compliance and completing technical evaluation, education and documentation -- we deliver the excellent care and attention to detail that our patients deserve. As a Genetic Counselor, you will provide supportive and follow-up services to patients and family members at high risk for genetic and/or exposure related conditions with oversight by the MD Clinical Geneticist. You will be encouraged to provide direct input and experienced recommendations while mentoring new genetic counselors, genetic counseling students and other clinical staff. Additionally, your role here will include collaborating with outside agencies and physicians to ensure operational effectiveness, market development and high-quality patient interactions.

Experience and education minimum requirements: • Master’s degree in Human Genetics or Counseling • Successful graduation from an accredited program in genetic counseling approved by the American Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC).
Preferred: • Three or more years of experience in a Medical Genetics setting.

License and certification minimum requirements: • Certification as a Genetic Counselor through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics, Certified Diplomat.
