Genetic Counselor – Laboratory Unit Manager
San Jose, California
In this role, you will manage a large unit or multiple units providing ambulatory services. You will ensure that the staff proves high quality, accessible, cost effective care, and patient focused services to members across the continuum, which comply with local, state, and federal requirements. In addition, you will develop and maintain budgets and on-going staff development.
At least three years of supervisory experience or two years of supervisory experience with a master’s degree
Three years of experience in an outpatient care setting preferred
A bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree in genetic counseling preferred
Board Certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics or the American Board of Genetic Counseling preferred
A current/valid Genetic Counselor License issued by the California State Department of Public Health or the ability to obtain license prior to employment start date preferred
BLS certification preferred
A National Provider Identifier (NPI) or the ability to obtain one prior to employment start date
Demonstrated experience working with a laboratory and/or curation team
Demonstrated clinical expertise in area of specialty
Demonstrated refined analytic and diagnostic reasoning skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
Knowledge of the Joint Commission and other local, state, and federal regulations
Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
