Toledo Children’s Hospital
The Toledo Children’s Pediatric Genetic Center is one of 6 regional centers in Ohio that has a Title V Genetic Grant. Our Genetic Counselors specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and counseling for our pediatric patients. Some examples would include developmental delays, developmental difficulties, and abnormal newborn screens including metabolic disorders. As a Children’s Hospital we have a CF Center, Hemophilia Center, Children’s Cancer Center, Down’s Syndrome Clinic and NICU. Our Genetic Counseling services work with these multidisciplinary teams to help educate families on prognosis, complications that may occur, and the best therapy plans available.
Hickman Cancer Center
The Hickman Cancer Center is the central hub of our ProMedica Cancer Institute’s services and highly-specialized technologies. Our Certified Genetic Counselors provide professional genetic counseling and hereditary cancer risk assessments to those with personal and/or family history of cancer and their families; coordinates communication between the patient and multidisciplinary teams in the identification and evaluation of hereditary risks associated with cancer. They also have a strong presence in the community; providing professional and community education and work closely with the Graduate Programs in the area. The Cancer Genetics Program is an established program comprised of three Genetic Counselors. You will have the opportunity to train under Sr. Genetic Counselors and be a part of an expanding team!

Masters Degree in Human Genetics, Genetic Counseling or a related field is required and accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Must be Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in genetic counseling by the Ohio State Medical Board is required
