Candidate is eligible to receive a one time sign-on bonus of $5,000 upon hire
Lead donor team members by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities. Plan and direct the daily workflow of Blood center and training/competencies of staff.
Develops, implements and evaluates departmental policies and procedures. Facilitate the review of QC and maintenance; evaluate quality processes and related documentation for completeness and appropriateness.
Coordinate, participate in, and assign procedure manual review and revision annually and as changes occur, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Ensure that supply inventories are maintained and monitor inventory and supply levels and product dating.
Work to increase efficiency and reduce waste of supplies. Manage the processes related to supply product recalls.
Review Variance from Quality Reports, complete appropriate investigation and follow-up with staff up to and including formal root cause analysis when indicated. Provide complete and appropriate documentation of follow-up. Serves as a positive role model by working with team to promote teamwork and cooperation.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Registered as Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Preferred: Registry as Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) with ASCP.
3 years of blood donor center, organ donor program, plasma center, or dialysis center experience. Preferred: 1 year of leadership experience in a blood center, organ donor program, plasma center, dialysis center, or another healthcare organization.
BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
