Unique opportunity to participate in and support a growing cancer genetic counseling and prevention program as part of Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven.
The mission of the program is to provide outstanding integrated patient care while keeping the academic commitment to ongoing learning, teaching, and research in different aspects of cancer genetics.
Location: Based in New Haven with potential/flexibility to travel to satellite locations
Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven is a designated comprehensive cancer center
State of the art program that includes physician leaders specializing in hereditary cancers
Diverse patient populations from varied socioeconomic backgrounds and with a variety of hereditary cancers including kidney, endocrine and pediatric
Locations/satellites range from large academic medical centers, to small and medium sized community hospitals, to care centers/satellites throughout the state
Collaborative, supportive, and respectful team environment including GCs with a range of experience (from new graduates to 15+ years) and physicians - all team members are valued for knowledge and expertise
Ongoing learning and support through regularly scheduled combined GC and MD research meetings, programmatic meetings and journal club (including a seminar series approved for category 1 CEUs)

Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling or Human Genetics from an ACGC Accredited Program.
One year of experience as a genetic counselor in an oncology setting preferred. Research experience is a plus.
Board eligibility by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG) required; certification preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work in a team focused approach
