Providence is calling a Mental Health Associate (0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable) to Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Provide patient care under the direct supervison of the RN, with indirect supervision of mental health skills by an employed Mental Health Professional.
Provide hospital level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions and illness.
Observe and report on patient conditions, changes, and collaborate with treatment team in developing treatment plans under the direction of an RN.
Be sensitive to needs of these patients and alerts care team leaders of a change in status of the patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit.
Be responsible to act in accordance with our Mission and Core Values and work to consider our guiding principles of: "Know Me, Care for Me and Ease My Way" with each patient and in all activities.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree, or a combination of applicable work experience and education
Current certification and Oregon State license to practice as a CNA2 -or- have completed the basic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA2) program within 1 year of hire
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) Certification prior to hire and re-certification every 2 years
3 years of relevant work, education, training or experience in an intensive psychiatric residential or outpatient setting -or- 1 year in an acute inpatient psychiatric facility
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year of experience in an inpatient mental health setting
