Exciting opportunity for a BC/BE genetic counselor to join a multidisciplinary team consisting of three genetic counselors at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, located in New Brunswick, New Jersey, one of only 41 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers. The Hereditary Oncology Prevention and Evaluation (HOPE) Program provides cancer risk assessment, genetic counseling/testing, and medical management services to individuals at increased risk to develop cancer based on their personal or family histories. In addition, the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey is also involved in cutting edge initiatives such as Precision Medicine Oncology. Join a multidisciplinary team consisting of cancer genetic counselors, medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, and other healthcare professionals. Primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive cancer genetic counseling and risk assessment at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and its affiliate hospitals in the Central New Jersey area. Teaching and supervision opportunities are available through the newly established Rutgers Genetic Counseling Master’s Program as well as numerous activities with medical resident/fellow and community education. Current and future research projects opportunities also exist.
Candidates must be able to work autonomously in addition to functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team. Candidate should also possess strong verbal communication and writing skills. Requirements: Masters degree in Genetic Counseling. Applicant should be ABGC board-certified/board-eligible. Cancer genetic experience and research experience preferred. Position available immediately.
