The University of Michigan Cancer Genetics Clinic is seeking one full-time genetic counselor who will work as part of an established team of 4 genetic counselors and medical subspecialists in gastroenterology, endocrinology, and genetics. The UM Cancer Genetics Clinic is a multidisciplinary clinic providing comprehensive assessment, counseling, and management to individuals with a broad range of inherited cancer predispositions. UM Genetic Counselors have the opportunity to provide care to patients with rare and complex genetic disorders, teach and supervise genetic counseling students, medical students, resident physicians, and other learners, and contribute to and initiate important research initiatives. Qualified candidates will have a Master's degree from a genetic counseling program accredited by the Accreditation Council of Genetic Counseling and will be Board Certified or have Active Candidate status through the American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics. For those not already certified, certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling is required within 2 years of employment. We are seeking highly motivated candidates with strong critical-thinking, organizational and communication skills who can work well independently and collaboratively.
