St. Luke’s Health System has an immediate opportunity for a full-time prenatal genetic counselor to join our maternal fetal medicine outpatient practice. Responsibilities include genetic counseling for routine prenatal, preconception and reproductive indications, including non-invasive prenatal testing, first trimester screening, invasive prenatal diagnosis, ultrasound anomalies, family history indications, recurrent pregnancy loss, and infertility. Opportunities exist for contribution to outreach programs and in-services to referring providers, presentations to professional and community groups, contribution to family practice resident training, program development, and quality improvement. Our recognized program is staffed by four MFM physicians, two genetic counselors and five sonographers, servicing two sites in the greater Boise area. St. Luke’s is a regional tertiary medical center, boasting a comprehensive Prenatal/Pediatric/Adult Genetics Program with MD geneticist involvement and five specialist genetic counselor positions serving the program. Case management is discussed and coordinated between disciplines through monthly case conferences. St. Luke’s additionally has well established or developing genetic services programs in Cancer/Hematology, Neurology and Cardiology, employing a number of additional genetic counselors.
Salary is competitive/negotiable, with moving expenses and sign on bonus available. Health and dental insurance are provided, as well as a generous retirement plan with employer matching. Continuing education is supported, including one professional conference per year with expenses paid. Coverage of professional memberships with CEU’s, certification costs, and Idaho state licensure fees is provided.
Applicants must have a degree in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC accredited genetic counseling graduate program and must be board eligible or board certified by the ABGC or ABMG. Applicants will need licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in the state of Idaho.
