Washington University School of Medicine who is dedicated to student learning, research, healthcare, and service is seeking candidates for the position of Prenatal Genetic Counselor in the Division Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound Genetics. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Human Genetics/Genetic Counseling from an approved training program and be ABGC/ABMG Board Certified/Board Eligible. Position is open to part time and full time applicants.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated team player with excellent organizational and communication skills to join a growing multidisciplinary team of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Ultrasound Genetics physicians and counselors who will focus on fetal care, pediatric genetics, and newborn medicine in conjunction with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Services offered include chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, NT screening, sequential screening, genetic carrier screening, Cell Free Fetal DNA screening, and diagnostic ultrasound.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide prenatal and preconception genetic counseling to a diverse population who are referred from the St. Louis metropolitan and surrounding areas with various high risk indications and fetal anomalies. The Prenatal Genetic counselor will be able to have autonomy within the multidisciplinary team and experience other opportunities which include working with other genetic counselors within the university, teaching residents and medical students who are in their genetic rotation, being involved in lectures/roundtable discussions in conjunction with faculty members for medical school curriculum, participation in clinical research/meetings with division members, and work in multiple locations within the practicing area.
