Opening for ABGC Board-Certified/Eligible genetic counselor. We are looking for a highly-motivated, energetic, and mature counselor for our very busy prenatal diagnosis program that serves the entire state of Arkansas. Patients are referred for a variety of reasons including AMA, abnormal screening results, family histories, infertility issues, teratogen exposures, fetal echocardiography, and ultrasound anomalies.
The counselor would be expected to see patients in our clinics at the University. He/She would work closely with 5 MFM physicians, 1 radiologist, nurses, sonographers, office staff, and other genetic counselors. The counselor would also be expected to serve as a liaison to other healthcare, participate in research interests, and provide lectures at the University and to the community. UAMS has an ABGC-accredited Master of Science program in Genetic Counseling. The counselor will be expected to participate in the clinical supervision of these students and will be welcome to participate in other aspects of their training.
