To this end, we are seeking a Genetics Counselor to continue this legacy of care.

What you will do:
In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of services and resources for the genetic counseling, evaluation and follow-up services for individuals and family members suspected to have an inherited predisposition tocancer.

Evaluate and identify patients and families who are at risk for inherited cancer syndromes, analyze inheritance patterns and recurrence risks
Provide counseling and psychological support to patients and their families
Interpret complex genetic and laboratory data/test results
Communicate with physician and other healthcare staff and document all interactions within the EMR
Assist patients with navigation of financial aspects associated with genetic testing
Assist with diagnosing genetic problems and develop short and long term genetic counseling plans
Promote the genetic counseling program and associated services of the oncology service line
Serve as an educator for other healthcare professionals and participate in community outreach efforts to educate the public on genetic aspects of cancer and promote cancer prevention and risk reduction strategies
What you will need:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent
Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited genetic program by hire date is required
Counselor specializing in Genetics.
Board eligibility/ Board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Certification can be obtained prior to hire date or within one year of hire
Preferred Work Experience:
3 Years relevant experience
Two years or more of experience in cancer genetic counseling
