Sarah Lawrence College seeks a full-time Assistant Program Director for the Human Genetics Program who will also function as director of program operations. The Joan H. Marks Graduate Program in Human Genetics is the nation’s oldest and largest program in genetic counseling and has trained more genetic counselors than any other program in the world. The program continues to evolve and innovate the training and education of genetic counselors.
The Assistant Program Director, Operations is responsible for collaborating with other members of the leadership team to ensure all operations run smoothly and are integrated across multiple and various program components. This individual is responsible for overseeing strategic communications with the program's network of collaborators, directing social media campaigns, and managing office administration and program events. This person also applies genetic counseling expertise to advising student thesis projects, mentoring and monitoring student learning and professional development, and contributing to admissions activities. Participation in scholarly activities and professional events at a national level is also expected.
Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree from a genetic counseling training program and board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC). A minimum of two years of experience as a genetic counselor and prior administrative responsibilities are preferred.
