Palo Alto Medical Foundation is seeking a dynamic genetic counselor to join our team of six genetic counselors and six perinatologists in our Maternal Fetal Medicine department. The genetic counselor will provide prenatal and preconception genetic counseling to a diverse population of patients referred to discuss testing options as well as for a variety of high risk indications including advanced maternal age, abnormal test results, and abnormal ultrasound findings. Applicants should be interested in not only genetic counseling but also in serving as a clinical liaison to ensure that patients receive excellent care. The Maternal Fetal Medicine department seeks counselors who are passionate about prenatal genetics and have intellectual curiosity as well as clinical acumen.
The position will primarily be based out of Mountain View, with coverage at our three other satellite locations (San Carlos, Los Gatos, and Fremont) as well. While our posting is for a full-time position, part-time applicants are encouraged to apply.
REQUIRED: Master's degree from an accredited genetic counseling training program;
certified/board eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling; current AHA BLS/CPR certification; experience in the field of Genetic Counseling
PREFERRED: experience in multidisciplinary team and research experience; program coordination or team leading experience
