The Center for Human Genetics (CHG) is seeking a full time genetic counselor. Join an expanding genetics team consisting of 8 genetic counselors, 8clinical medical geneticists,2 OB geneticists, a cytogeneticist, a molecular geneticist, a dietician, and various support staff in providing counseling services to patients. The CHG has clinics in the areas of Cancer, ConnectiveTissue disorders, Craniofacial disorders,Metabolism, Neurogenetics, Pediatric, Prader-Willi syndrome,and Prenatal. Genetic Counselors at the CHG are primarily involved in patient care, but there are opportunities to also participate in clinical laboratory work and clinical research projects. The position also involves opportunities for teaching,mentoring, and supervising genetic counseling students, residents,and medical students. Opportunities to participate in research are numerous, as the Center is a bridge between Case Western and University Hospitals, enabling exciting opportunities from bench work to clinical care. EDUCATION/ EXPERTISE: Masters degree from an accredited training program in genetic counseling.
REQUIRED CREDENTIALS: Board certified or active candidate status by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE: Genetic counseling experience preferred.
