Myriad Genetic Laboratories has an immediate opening for a creative and energetic individual to join our growing Genetic Counselor Team. This is a remote, work from home position that requires minimal travel.
This is an excellent position for a genetic counselor who is interested in working in a stimulating industry setting, while still having daily patient interaction. The candidate is someone who would like to build and expand their genetic counseling skills, develop expertise in hereditary cancer testing and values the support of an energetic team with strong clinical skills. This is a new and evolving position, so we are looking for independent, creative, adaptive individuals who want to grow with the job!
The Genetic Counseling Team is currently comprised of a large group of genetic counselors who have a strong collaboration and regular interaction. Our goal is to add multiple genetic counselors to help continue the expansion of this valuable program. This home-based position requires a self-motivated individual who is interesting in joining a team with a commitment to patient care and work-life balance. The genetic counselors provide a wide range of patient and corporate medical support including:
Patient education around hereditary cancer testing as part of our new TeleEducation Patient Program. These interactions are the primary responsibility of this role and constitute about 90% of time.
Expertise regarding current national guidelines and publications surrounding hereditary cancer genetics.
Opportunity to provide patient support and education for other Myriad tests related to prenatal and/or neuroscience products.
Development and execution of individual research projects, with opportunities to present at scientific meetings.
Contributions to patient and provider education materials.
Partnerships with other departments within Myriad Genetic Laboratories to facilitate optimal patient experiences.
Advocacy and education at patient support events.

Board certified/eligible genetic counselor (required) with interest in hereditary cancer risk assessment.
Above average IT skills.
Strong preference for bilingual Spanish speaker.
Genetic counseling licensure (or ability to obtain licensure) in licensed states as needed or applicable.
Excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
A dedicated, HIPAA compliant home work space
