We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counselor to join our Fun-Loving, Hard-working, Supportive Emory Genetic Clinical Trials Center (GCTC) and Emory's Lysosomal and Peroxisomal Storage Disease Center (LSDC). This position is tailor-made for a genetic counselor who is interested in a long term relationship with their patients, being involved in cutting edge clinical research, and working with an individually independent but fully integrated team.
Responsibilities would include:
Providing genetic counseling services to individuals and families according to established practices, policies and procedures within the context of the department's genetic clinics and programs focused on metabolic conditions but may also include, but not be limited to, general genetics clinics, metabolic disease clinics, specialty clinics, prenatal/preconception clinics, cancer risk assessment clinics, outreach clinics, Newborn Screening program, Nutrition Program, Lysosomal Storage Disease Program, and Infusion Center.
Supporting genetic testing programs through coordination of diagnostic lab testing, result reporting and consultation with patients and clients.
Assisting with training students, interns, residents, fellows and volunteers.
Coordinating genetic clinical research trials
Supporting clinical and research initiatives through local, regional or national presentations, publications and teaching opportunities.
Working with patient advocacy groups
Helping decide which pink "recognition" dolphin should visit a deserving team member for a job well done.
Performing related responsibilities as required.

Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited ABGC training program.
Board certification as a Genetic Counselor by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
At least one year of experience as a genetic counselor or related experience.
Additional Salary Information: Salary range is determined by Emory Human Resources and based on experience.
