The Department of Medicine/Division of Genetics at the University of Rochester Medical Center is seeking to fill a full-time Genetic Counselor position in Genetics.
The University of Rochester is a major genetics service provider in upstate New York. Our highly successful and active primary clinical programs include our General Genetics clinic and Cardiogenetics clinic. There are a number of allied programs in neurogenetics, cancer genetics, prenatal and reproductive genetics as well. We also have laboratory services in cytogenetics and cytogenomics, biochemical genetics and molecular genetics.
Successful candidates are expected to share the clinical responsibilities of the Division of Genetics with another counselor in the Department, as well as collaborate with a group of other counselors in the allied programs. Teaching of medical students, and residents is expected in the School of Medicine and Dentistry.
The candidate will be appointed as a faculty member. Candidates with MS degree in genetic counseling who are Board Certified/Board eligible by the ABGC are encouraged to apply.
