The Regional Medical Specialist (RMS) is a critical position to the company, responsible for providing clinical education and support to healthcare providers in the identification and management of patients with hereditary cancer syndromes. The Preventive Care RMS functions as a field-based member of the Medical Affairs department within the Preventive Care Business Unit. This full-time position requires field travel, averaging 2 days/week, in addition to working from RMS's home office. Approximately 80% of RMS time is devoted to supporting clients, through in-person and remote interactions, with about 20% spent on preparation and follow-up, special projects, cross-departmental collaboration, and other miscellaneous activities. The majority of travel is within a defined geographic region, with occasional travel for continuing education or corporate meetings.
Location: Southwest - Phoenix, San Diego // or Texas Southwest - Austin, San Antonio
Work closely with Medical Services, Sales, Marketing and other departments to execute the goals and strategies of the company.
Educate and empower healthcare providers to adopt hereditary cancer risk assessment as standard of care.
Provide consistent messaging and training to healthcare providers for accurate cancer risk stratification and management.
Manage time and territory needs and prioritize company objectives.
Assist in the creation of educational and training materials used to communicate company products and services.
Employ strong project management skills by prioritizing and leading multiple tasks concurrently.
Candidates for the position include Board Certified/Board Eligible genetic counselors; or licensed Advanced Practice Nurses or Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hereditary cancer risk assessment experience. Candidates should have well-developed organizational, communication, presentation and project management skills. Candidates should have the ability to interact effectively in a team environment and independently, regardless of personnel function or reporting responsibilities.
