The Greenwood Genetic Center (GGC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible Clinical Genetic Counselor. The position will be located in the Greenwood office of the Greenwood Genetic Center. This candidate would join a team of 3 clinical geneticists, 1 physician assistant and 1 clinical genetic counselor.
The Clinical Genetic Counselor position will primarily involve genetic education, assessment of risks and psychosocial status, immediate and ongoing support for families, discussion of testing options and coordination, visit preparation and documentation in an EHR system, interpretation of laboratory results and communication of findings. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in educational programs, student training, statewide genetic case review, development of new programs or revamping existing programs and research projects. The counselor will work with pediatric and adult patients in the general and metabolic clinics, but will also involve some prenatal and cancer counseling.

A Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling is required, and applicants must be Board Certified/Eligible by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
