DEFINITION: Responsible for clinical and operational management of the Outpatient Audiology Clinic located on the campus of The Learning Center for the Deaf. Provide direct services to patients as schedule allows
REQUIREMENTS: • Doctor of Audiology Degree or Master’s Degree in Audiology from an accredited program. Eligible for Massachusetts State license in Audiology. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) • The Program Director must maintain their certification/licensure with appropriate continuing education, as required by the granting board. • Ten or more years of experience as a clinical Audiologist with supervisory experience preferred. Ability to pass a CORI and background check including fingerprinting • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or willingness to learn required. At a minimum, the Clinic Director and the entire staff will follow the Code of Ethics as defined by the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Directs and evaluates departmental procedures, including patient care delivery, technologies, staffing levels and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives, including HIPAA compliance. Monitors and negotiates reimbursement rates from insurance companies. Leads community outreach and the development of best-practice diagnostic and rehabilitative policies and procedures. Supervises audiology clinic personnel, acts as liaison between audiology personnel and The Learning Center for the Deaf administration and staff. Oversees maintenance of clinic equipment and determines need for repair, upgrade or replacement. Maintains relationships with hearing aid manufacturer representatives insuring optimum pricing, ongoing product updates and continuing education opportunities. Monitors financial performance of the clinic as a profit center benefiting The Learning Center for the Deaf organization, collaborates with Finance Director and CFO to achieve budget and financial objectives. Collaborates with TLC Development Office regarding support of community outreach and marketing of the clinic. Functions as clinical audiologist providing direct patient care as schedule allows or as client caseload demands in accordance with the job description of clinical audiologist.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be physically able to perform all duties of the job including frequent lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, typing, prolonged standing or sitting.

Headquartered on a 14-acre campus with 16 buildings in Framingham, Massachusetts, TLC serves approximately 200 deaf and hard of hearing children from infancy through high school on its campus and provides consultation and support services to over 200 students who are mainstreamed in their local public schools.
