We are seeking a full-time Genetic Counselor to join a multidisciplinary oncology team with 5 Genetic Counselors. Our Genetic Counselors provide services to 8 OhioHealth hospitals in person or via telemedicine and contract with other medical institutions in Ohio to provide genetic counseling via telemedicine.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Identifying and counseling individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes
Attending various tumor boards (general and specialty)
Supervising genetic counseling graduate students
Providing medical staff education (presentations, lectures, resident/fellow rotations)
Our Genetic Counselors are credentialed advanced practice providers, exercising independent judgment in gathering information from the patient and referring physician, assessing this information, enabling patient decision making, facilitating testing and presenting follow up recommendations.
Master’s Degree: MS/MA with specialty in Genetics or Genetic Counseling from an accredited genetic counseling graduate program
Certification: Board Eligible or Board Certified by American Board of Genetic Counseling
License: Full or Supervised Practice License in Genetic Counseling in Ohio will be required
