MyOncoPath is a personalized oncology genetic counseling clinic focused on improving clinical outcomes for cancer patients through genetic testing and diagnostics. We work with patients and physicians by recommending genetic tests to identify individualized treatment plans as early as possible. We are looking for individuals that would like the opportunity to pioneer and to help pave the way to improving the standard of care for cancer patients by better utilizing genetic testing for personalized medicine and hereditary risk assessment.
Currently we are seeking independent board certified and licensed genetic counselors to join our practice to provide remote or telegenetic counseling to support both physicians and patients across the US. These positions can be part time or full-time roles. The ideal candidates will have patient care experience in cancer genetic counseling. This is a work from home position anywhere in the US. We will consider candidates that live remotely based on experience and state coverage. We currently need counselors to to cover states that require licensure as well as states that do not.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Serve as point person for patient clinical inquiries (via phone and email)
Call results out to patients and health care providers when appropriate
Identification of relevant testing for the patient. Aptitude to learn relevant testing options including cancer profiling techniques, as well as available companion and complementary diagnostics.
Closely follow publications, FDA approvals, conferences, and developments in respective cancer diagnostic areas
Write clinical reports
Participate in or take leadership of projects that will help advance the clinic's objectives.
Provide genetic counseling to patients both before and after genetic testing (via phone and potentially video)
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in cancer genetics, including direct patient care experience preferred.
Familiarity with CLIA diagnostic laboratories and testing,including familiarity with next-generation sequencing, and/or knowledge of advanced methods in cancer research diagnostic tools. Ongoing training will also be provided.
ABGC Board Certification is required
Genetic counseling licensure (or ability to obtain licensure) in licensed states as needed or applicable
Excellent organizational and task management skills
Comfort with large panel testing, discussing clinical results and potential options for a wide variety of known cancer genes.
Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to understand, synthesize, and coherently evaluate complex genetic information.
Ability to work independently, remotely or within a practice, but also in a collaborative manner with various partners.
Maintain ABGC certification and appropriate state licensure
Some travel may be required
Bilingual – i.e. English/Spanish is a plus

Additional Salary Information: Rate is negotiable and will be determined by experience.
