Baby Genes, Inc. is seeking a full-time laboratory-based genetic counselor to join our team in a prominent role, or lead, for the data analysis and reporting team. Primary activities are related to reviewing genetic test orders, offering education and support regarding genetic issues and promote best practices for genetic services and testing. This would be a process ownership role with oversight of data analysts and bioinformatics scientists.
While this position is designed to be local, the right candidate can start remote with a plan to eventually relocate to Colorado.
Baby Genes will also consider candidates meeting the requirements for a part-time or remote role.
Review, process and pre-finalize genetic testing reports for Laboratory Director and/or Clinical Consultant review/sign-out
Conducts thorough medical histories, obtains detailed family histories, conducts group and individual counseling including risk assessment and diagnostic management.
Explains and interprets results to patients.
Reports results of testing to patients and referring physicians.
Educates patients regarding their disease and treatments in addition to any risks, benefits and limitations of genetic testing.
Attends and participates in professional meetings, directed educational opportunities, and in-service programs to enhance genetic knowledge and learn of new or changing protocols and technologies.
Other duties as assigned.
Master's Degree (MS/MA/ScM/MSHyg) from an accredited training program in Genetic Counseling.
Board Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and/or the American College of Medical Genetics.
Minimum of three years post-graduate clinical experience as a genetic counselor with demonstrated experience in a genetics clinic setting.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in multidisciplinary settings
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting
