CANCER GENETIC COUNSELOR

The professional we select for this important role will have the opportunity to work with Northwestern University’s graduate program in genetic counseling as a faculty member. This individual will join a team of three reproductive geneticists and three genetic counselors to perform primarily clinical duties in support of various clinics within the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities include genetic counseling activities related to cancer susceptibility, screening, testing, and follow-up protocols for patients who are part of the Cancer Genetics Program, and attending weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards. In addition, this person may participate in numerous related research projects.
Master’s degree in genetic counseling.
Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or eligibility for same.
Licensure or temporary licensure to practice genetic counseling in the state of Illinois.
One year of experience in genetic counseling.
