Assistant Program Director – Genetic Counseling Program
Job Duties: The Assistant Program Director (APD) reports to the Program Director. The APD is responsible for supporting the Program Director in all of the program’s administrative and other functions. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Schedule, coordinate, monitor and evaluate student observational and clinical experiences assuring an appropriate variety and number of cases for each student, implementing modifications as needed
• Function as a liaison to clinical sites including site orientation, clinical supervisor training and evaluation
• Facilitate completion of affiliation agreements
• Procure additional clinical training sites
• Supervise student research projects
• Classroom teaching and course coordination
• Assist with program admissions, marketing and recruitment
• Assist with program strategic planning, development and outcomes assessment
Qualifications: Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling with ABGC/ABMGG Board Certification and must have a minimum of three years of successful experience as a genetic counselor; previous clinical supervision experience, teaching and administrative experience highly desirable. Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to advancing the field of genetic counseling, the ability to work with the Program Director as well as independently. The APD should have an interest in advancing the field of genetic counseling in areas such as expanded roles, genomic medicine, specialized/ advanced training, and interprofessional education.
Salary: Commensurate with experience
FLSA Classification: Exempt
